Dancing in the streets in London
Event Date: Thu November 12 2009
UPDATE 12 November - this event has again been cancelled.

Sky’s brand new dance TV show hosted by Davina McCall Got To Dance are planning a huge spectacular flash mob dance routine in a central London location on Saturday 21st November – location to be confirmed. The soundtrack for the event will be Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, Aerosmith’s ‘Walk this Way’ and Diana Ross’ ‘Upside Down. Plus a Michael Jackson mega-mix featuring Beat It, Don’t Stop ‘till You Get Enough and Bad.
Ashley Wallen, who coreographed the T-Mobile advert and Oprah’s recent series launch, will be there on the day to teach the routine and anyone is welcome to come along and join in. One of the programmes judges, Ashley Banjo, will be putting on an amazing performance with his group Diversity and Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and West end star Adam Garcia may even put in an appearance.
To take part, go online at http://www.sky.com/dance and learn the routines. You need to watch the dance demo then listen to separate the instruction video. Arrive at 11am ready to rehearse with the Sky 1HD cameras and we will be filming until 5pm latest.
Take your dancing shoes, an umbrella and something warm to wear. Food and drinks will be available to purchase nearby (apparently - so its someone in London with food nearby). There isn’t a secure cloakroom so please leave valuables at home. Any age welcomed but children are not allowed to miss school for this event. Children are welcome to learn online and join in after school. Please avoid stilettos or ‘indoor only’ dance shoes such as ballet pumps. You are welcome to come in costume. The more colourful the better and the more chance you’ll be able to spot yourself on telly. All standards of dancers are welcome - Just Dance auditionees or the general public. You never know you might get spotted and end up with an audition in front of our judges and one step towards winning £100,000. There will be time to rehearse the routine in the morning but the more you learn online the quicker we can get going. We will continue even if there is moderate rain. Bring warm clothing and an umbrella and we will go dancing in the rain!
London: 21st November - Location to be confirmed.
Keep checking http://www.sky.com/dance for updates on the location.
And an apology to those who were eagerly awaiting the Just Dance London event that we advertised here - it was cancelled and no one told us until after the event was supposed to happen and this event is the replacement - and the keen ones amongst you will notice a change to the programme’s name (Does that mean that Davina will have to reshoot the Edinburgh and Manchester shows again or will it be dubbed/cgi’d?).
