Another group in New Zealand

Auckland Mob is forming to perform New Zealand's first flashmob within days. The founder, going by the name of 'Monty', is ensuring that kiwi-mobbing will remain impartial. He says, 'there is an obvious tendency for organisers and participants to become sensitive to marketing and politics. We intend to remain impartial, independent and operate at a grassroots level. Meaningless surrealism and fun!' For more info and to sign-up visit: www.flashmob.co.nz.

To be fair, I think there has been a concerted effort by most if not *all* of the organised 'mobs' to be 'apolitical' or "impartial", to quote the above. If our mob (mancsmartmob of Manchester-UK) was suddenly hijacked by any other reason than for it to be pure fun, surrealist and sheer 'Monty Pythonesque', then I for one would not entertain the idea and not participate. But surely everyone knows that this is the sole objective for Flash Mobbing? Who wants or needs to make any other point than; we are doing it because we *are*, or because we *can*. This has been the one common denominator of all Flash Mobs as far as I know.

The New Zealand mob will not be superior to any other mob because of those reasons. You can't re-invent the wheel. Whatever, I hope it is a roaring success and enjoyed by all.

Have a nice one, Kiwis!!!
